Chatting With Sherri welcomes back the Vintage Egyptologist; Dr. Colleen Darnell!
We chat about her new book with her husband called; "Egypt's Golden Couple: When Akhenaten and Nefertiti Were Gods on Earth" by John Coleman Darnell and Colleen Darnell!
Akhenaten has been the subject of radically different, even contradictory, biographies. The king has achieved fame as the world's first individual and the first monotheist, but others have seen him as an incestuous tyrant who nearly ruined the kingdom he ruled. . Who are Akhenaten and Nefertiti? And what can we actually say about rulers who lived more than three thousand years ago?
November 2022 marks the centennial of the discovery of the tomb of Tutankhamun and although "King Tut" is a household name, his nine-year rule pales in comparison to the revolutionary reign of his parents. Akhenaten and Nefertiti became gods on earth by transforming Egyptian solar worship, innovating in art and urban design, and merging religion and politics in ways never attempted before. Combining fascinating scholarship, detective suspense, and adventurous thrills, Egypt's Golden Couple is a journey through excavations, museums, hieroglyphic texts, and stunning artifacts.
The book is available at; Egypt's Golden Couple (macmillan.com).:

Chatting With Sherri welcomes back award-winning author; Peter Wacks!
Caller of Lightning; When Halley's Comet blazed across the sky in 1759, onlookers saw a sight far more spectacular--and disastrous--than they ever could have imagined. Destroyed in a magical battle, the comet is rent in two and appears to strike Earth. The event is known as The Sundering, the moment in which the Old World is separated from the New, perhaps permanently isolating the Americas. What's more, The Sundering has brought magic into the world--creatures from folklore and fairy tales come to life, along with wizardry and magework unlike anything seen outside of legend. The New World is now far stranger than before, and the Europeans, Africans, and Indigenous peoples on the American continent must forge new bonds if they are to survive. So, when magic returns to the world of the 1700s, who does the world turn to for help? None other than the father of electricity himself: Benjamin Franklin! But Franklin is in for a shock if he thinks his knowledge of science will prepare him for the world of magic. The master once more becomes the apprentice. But Franklin must learn his spells fast, for he is far from the only one studying magic.

Chatting With Sherri welcomes back award-winning author Andy Dibble!
Andy Dibble lives in Madison, Wisconsin and works as a healthcare IT consultant. He has supported the electronic medical record of large healthcare systems in six countries. He has a long history of volunteering as a programming language instructor and a less fulfilling history in software development. While not writing, he spends his free time reading, running, and eating sushi.
Andy came to writing fiction by way of academia. While an undergraduate, he completed four majors—computer science, religious studies, philosophy, and Asian studies—and published a paper on two of India’s great epics, the Mahābhārata and the Bhāgavata Purāṇa. In pursuit of a career as a professor of South Asian religion, he completed a master’s of theological studies at Harvard Divinity School. Along the way, he realized writing about abstruse Sanskrit texts for a living wasn’t for him. Unfortunately, giving up on academia also meant giving up on many opportunities to publish. Fortunately, writing speculative fiction brings new publishing opportunities.
Andy's winning story, "A Word That Means Everything," is published in the anthology, L. Ron Hubbard Presents Writers of the Future Volume 36 which has been on the bestsellers list in recent years!
