Chatting With Sherri welcomes award-winning Illustrator Jennifer Bruce!
Jennifer Bruce was born in 1991 near Detroit, Michigan. As a child she had an avid interest in drawing but didn’t have access to art classes until high school, so she was largely self-taught. After high school, forced to choose a career in college, she struggled to settle into a major that felt fulfilling, but avoided an art major because it felt daunting and impossible.
She eventually regained her confidence and attended the College for Creative Studies in downtown Detroit, graduating with honors and a bachelor’s in illustration (and a minor in concept art). She is now pursuing a career as a freelance artist, with a focus on young adult and children’s literature book covers.
Her style of illustration mixes her foundation of traditional media with the ease and flexibility of digital media. Her digital paintings combine semi-realistic figures with graphic elements, texture, and patterns, infused with dramatic emotion and narrative. She draws inspiration from nature, beloved works of fiction, and her favorite cinematic and electronic/indie-pop music.
Jennifer's art has earned her a cash prize and a trip to Hollywood as well as having her art published in the annual bestseller, L. Ron Hubbard Presents Writers of the Future Volume 37.

Shadowed Past; Have you ever felt isolated and alone? Are you a people pleaser, responsible for other people and how they feel? Have you ever judged yourself harshly? Do you identify yourself as a victim? This is exactly what will happen if your dysfunctional past shapes your future. Do not allow your past to haunt your present. The emotional scars you carry into your adult life can inhibit your ability to move forward. When in this state of mind life seems so unfair, the hurt seems so real, the sadness clouds any potential for clarity and insight. A negative view of life seems the norm as you assume the role of the victim. It can be impossible to recognize any strength within you. Every time you recall your past, you give it life again.

Chatting With Sherri welcomes Journalist and Author; Mark I. Jacobson!
Mark I. Jacobson tells a bit about his book and himself;
"TheYearOfMyLifeVR.com is a Continuum book series. When the book ends, the story doesn't. In between their adventures in virtual reality, The Writer and Victoria live and interact in the actual world. They have nothing in common, but they may be civilization's only hope as they set out to save the human species from extinction. Get to know them in real time as the story continues and fiction becomes reality! There is one last thing that makes this book so real. The main character is an actual person caught up in a fictional adventure. The prologue, his world view, and The Writer's Reality blog (both in the book and on the Continuum website), is taken from his actual life. I know this for a fact because I am The Writer."
"I graduated from the University of Arizona, took my journalism degree, and moved to Los Angeles. I started writing feature articles and a column for a monthly magazine called Gambling Times. After several years, I moved on to celebrity cover and feature articles for various magazines and United Press International. Finally, I settled into writing fiction and nonfiction books. My nonfiction book, The Year of My Life: reminiscences and rants: Politics, is told in more of a story form, and is not your father’s book on politics. My current book is TheYearOfMyLifeVR.com. The book title is also the URL of a website that continues with the characters in real life. When the book ends, the story doesn’t."

Chatting With Sherri welcomes author Brittany Rainsdon!
Brittany Rainsdon Headed to Hollywood as Writers of the Future Published Finalist;
Brittany started writing at a young age, penning poems and stories, and filling an overstuffed nightstand with spiral notebooks, pens, and floppy disks (yes, those were still a thing in 2007). But after entering college, Brittany lost touch with her writing and didn’t come back to it for several years. After having her third child in 2015 and needing a creative outlet, her passion for writing reignited. Once she found the Writers of the Future Contest, Brittany has not missed a quarter and has been a Writers of the Future finalist three times. “Half-Breed” is her first published story and she hopes to publish many more.
