I used to attend the Popular Culture/American Culture Association conference were I presented on Italian genre films however, I quit doing that when I co-founded with Michele Brittany the Ann Radcliffe Academic Conference which focuses on horror studies.
-My first book was on peplum and sword and sandal films of the 90s and beyond, such as Xena and Gladiator.  My most recent published essay is about synthwave and the the music of Stranger Things.  Currently co-editing a book with Michele Brittany about horror literature.
- If I had a goal in my writing, it's to explore topics at the borders of pop culture that have not really been written about or explored before. I like taking the off beat path to understand things. I like exploring the derivatives, the knock offs, the copy cats of culture phenomenon. I like exploring the connectivity of how things influence each other and ultimately like to offer critical re-assessment to things once disregarded. I'd like to be considered one of the first to explore something so futurue scholarship can happen and my work could be foundational.

Hend Salah is a New York born, horror loving, mental health counseling, loud-mouthed mass of contradictions.  She has a cornucopia of sensibly insensible, controversial opinions, and is allergic to romance. She loves putting a dark twist on a good argument. Bad things are funny. 
“She was sitting on a cold concrete floor, gagged, bound, and blinded. Nothing but a stale silence encompassed her. A putrid smell emanated from something to her left, sending her into a fit of coughs. It was so strong that she could almost taste it. It filled her mouth and nose, feeding her senses a disgusting smell created by something — or someone — that had been left alone to rot. She imagined a corpse sprawled just beyond her feet. It’s face having decayed so intensely that facial features were no longer visible; wounds festering soundlessly as insects found refuge inside them: skin hanging off its feet and toes with mutilated nails; skull crushed almost entirely, neither discernible as male nor female.”

Eric Flint is an American author, editor, and e-publisher. The majority of his works are alternate history, science fiction and humorous fantasy adventures. After winning the 1993 Writers of the Future contest and he published his first novel in 1997.
Shortly afterwards, he became the first librarian of the Baen Free Library and a prominent anti-copy protection activist. In 2004, faced with a persistent drain on his time by fan-fiction authors seeking comment on his 1632 series, he suggested to Jim Baen the experimental serialized fan-fiction e-zine The Grantville Gazette. So far, eight volumes from the Gazette magazine have been published by Baen Books, in various formats. He is also the MC alongside Charles Gannon for the Annual Dragon Awards.

Mary's in the throes of her finishing off her novel "Mabel of the Anzacs" which will be released on July 31. In addition to that, the novel will also be a play to be performed on Sherri's Playhouse. She's writing a novella called "Enemy At The Gate" that will be part of a World War II Resistance athology along with nine other authors featuring her character of Zoe from her Intertwined Souls Series. A second anthology called "A Moment In Time" will feature two supporting characters from her novels, Stella and Tessa in a short story set in 1917. Mary is also organising the annual AUSXIP Starship Charity Auction in September.

Lee Murray is a multi award-winning writer and editor of science fiction, fantasy, and horror (Sir Julius Vogel, Australian Shadows). The co-author of supernatural crime-noir series The Path of Ra (Raw Dog Screaming Press), her solo titles include the bestselling military thriller Into the Mist and its sequel Into the Sounds (Severed Press). She is proud to have co-edited nine anthologies of speculative fiction, one of which, Baby Teeth, won her an Australian Shadows Award in 2014 (with Dan Rabarts).  Chatting With Sherri welcomes author and playwright; Gregg Oppenheimer! Gregg is the son of “I Love Lucy” creator-producer-head writer Jess Oppenheimer.  He got his start in comedy at the tender age of four, when his father introduced him to Lucille Ball on the set of “I Love Lucy.” Kneeling down, a smiling Lucy asked Gregg, “Where did you get those big brown eyes?” Gregg's deadpan reply: "They came with the face." Lucy nearly fell over laughing.
And now Gregg has written a new play. Sarah Drew (Grey’s Anatomy) and Oscar Nuñez (The Office) will portray Lucille Ball and Desi Arnaz in the world premiere of I Love Lucy: A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Sitcom. “This is a comedy about the comedy business,” he says. “It’s a true story, but sometimes it almost feels like an episode of I Love Lucy itself.”
In 1996, he left a successful career as partner in the international law firm O'Melveny & Myers in order to complete his late father's humorous memoir, “Laughs, Luck...and Lucy: How I Came to Create the Most Popular Sitcom of All Time,” which was published by Syracuse University Press. That book, which went through eight printings, From 2000 to 2007, he produced the award-winning “I Love Lucy” DVD Series for CBS and Paramount.

Chatting With Sherri is excited to welcome; Ruby Rees from Miss Fisher Mysteries!
 
Ruby has been a professional performer all her life. She can be seen in her recurring role as Jane Ross in Miss Fisher's Murder Mysteries!!  And her latest show is the key role of 'Edith' in Foxtel's miniseries Picnic at Hanging Rock.
 
Ruby trained in all facets of acting at HB Studios in New York.  Ruby has been in countless live productions, most recently appearing in an Off-Broadway production of Noel Coward’s Design For Living, directed by Tony Award Winner Jack Hoffsiss. And  most recently Good Boy for Franco Films NYC.
 
Ruby Rees , who wrapped Picnic last year, is shining a spotlight on the #metoo movement, here in Oz. “Women By the Sea” is Ruby’s first feature film and boasts an entirely female cast and crew. Jordan hosts “Jordan Hates,” an award winning web-series which humorously explores the darker aspects of the human condition, as well as “Jordan Loves” an exploration of the unseen aspects of San Diego. Also, he has an upcoming podcast series called "You're Gonna Die Alone."
 
Jordan went on to write and develop such comedic narrative series as, “Soldiers of Misfortune,” and “Fletcher and Jenks,” as well as the KPBS series “Permission to Speak Freely.”

It is no secret that one of my all time favorite sitcoms was Bewitched!  I loved it and I have had the pleasure to interview people who share that love.  This week I am chatting with Mark Simpson who orchestrates the annual Bewitched Fan Fare.

They will discuss acting, theater and being creative in today's envirement.  And about the new play by Ty and how Debra helped him to bring it life.
In "Tell Me About Your Daddy," Ty explores the labels in the gay male culture, and as "The Doctor" character giving a "seminar" to the audience - theorizes that they are necessary for survival in a competitive community. It's a dark social commentary, with some fun and comedic moments.
