Chatting With Sherri welcomes artist and Illustrator who created covers for Dungeons & Dragons; Larry Elmore!
Leonard Elmore has been creating fantasy and science fiction art for more than forty years. In the 1970s he began freelancing and was published in a few magazines, including Heavy Metal and National Lampoon. After being contacted by TSR Inc., the company that produced the role-playing game Dungeons & Dragons, Larry worked there from 1981 to 1987. While at TSR, he helped set the standards for gaming art in the role-playing genre. Besides creating covers for Dungeons & Dragons, AD&D, Star Frontiers and other gaming books, he may be best known for his work with the world of Dragonlance.
Since 1987 he has worked as a freelance illustrator, creating covers for comics, computer games, magazines, and fantasy and science fiction books and projects too numerous to list. In recent years, he has been creating paintings for collectors and fans around the world.
He has been an Illustrators of the Future judge since 2012. Larry was presented with the L. Ron Hubbard Lifetime Achievement Award for Outstanding Contributions to the Arts in 2018.
“The Illustrators of the Future is true competition. It’s a wonderful competition. If I had something like this when I was young to attend, it would blow my mind because I never met a real professional artist till I was out of school, out of college.” —Larry Elmore

Chatting With Sherri welcomes author; Elaine Schroller!
Elaine Schroller writes about love, loss, and redemption experienced by Australian, American, and French characters during WWI and WWII.
DARE NOT TELL is the story of Joe Parker, an Australian WWI vet, and his American wife Sophie, a WWI nurse. It begins with Sophie and Joe’s chance meeting in 1916 Paris and chronicles their relationship through thick and thin up to the threshold of WWII.
THE BRAVEST SOLDIERS is set in Australia and the South West Pacific Area during World War II and explores how the women who wait at home must be the bravest soldiers. The book features Sophie and Joe, their sons, visitors from the US, plus a new romance and a trio of children whom life has treated very unfairly.
Elaine is currently writing the next chapter in Sophie and Joe's story to discover the truth about what happened to Joe’s brother Robbie, who was declared ‘Missing, presumed dead’ in April 1917.
She was an oil brat, and attended high schools in Algeria, England, Texas, and Lebanon. Her degree is in History, which gave her the perfect training for researching specific places and events in DARE NOT TELL and THE BRAVEST SOLDIERS. She has traveled to all but one of the countries in the books and visited all the sites where the stories take place, some more than once.
For many years she has lived in Bellaire, Texas where she and her husband raised their son and had multiple rescue cocker spaniels underfoot.
She's a member of the Historical Novel Society and the Women's Fiction Writers Association and hopes you will love reading her books as much as she loved writing them.

Chatting with Sherri welcomes back award winning author; Tim Powers!

His most recent book is Hide Me Among the Graves. The Manchester Guardian called Powers “the best fantasy writer to appear in decades.”
Tim teaches the annual Writers of the Future workshop. He has been involved with the Contest since its early years, serving as one of the instructors (along with Algis Budrys and Orson Scott Card) at the very first official WotF workshop in Sag Harbor.
“I think I’ve been a judge for most of the quarters in the past two decades. This means that several times a year I get a stack of manuscript photocopies via next-day mail, and take a day off from my own writing to read them all and evaluate them; this is no chore, since Dave Wolverton or K.D. Wentworth has already culled them from the total volume of submissions, and invariably there is at least one story that I’m grateful to have a chance to read. I send my verdicts in, and usually I hang on to a couple of the photocopies, just because I want to have the chance to read them again before the actual anthology is published.” — Tim Powers

Chatting With Sherri welcomes award-winning artist; Ximing Luo!
Ximing Luo has been drawing ever since she could hold a pencil, discovering her love for art and creativity during her time in preschool. Inspired by children's books and illustrations, she started illustrating and has never looked back. Though Ximing is the only artist in her family, her parents were always supportive throughout her artistic growth and journey.
Ximing's current works explore the cohesion of reality and illusions in dreams and nightmares, consisting of surrealist pieces investigating the hallucinations of the subconscious human psyche. Ximing finds herself experimenting with all sorts of media and concepts with an unquenchable thirst for novelty and originality, always looking for a way to push her craft and imagination to the next level. In the past, she has worked with digital media, but for the time being, she finds her passion in traditional media. Recently she has explored woodburning, scratch art, and assembling geometric structures.
Ximing is a winner in the L. Ron Hubbard Illustrators of the Future Contest and was honored along with eleven other winning artists and twelve winning writers at the Taglyan Complex in Hollywood, California on April 28th. Ximing created the illustration for the story, "The Withering Sky," by author Arthur H. Manners, a Writers of the Future winner.
