Chatting With Sherri welcomes back fine artist; Sasha T. !
"I am often asked how I go about painting on metal. It always starts the same way. I purchase stainless steel panels from my local metal supply company, and then have the sheets cut down to my desired size. I then distress the metal by using a grinder and a sanding pad. Not only does that technique create a surface for the paint to stick onto, but also allows the light to play off the metal once the painting is complete.
Considering that the metal is as much an integral part of my paintings, as is the oil paint - I make sure to leave as much of the metal showing through as I can. When light strikes the metal it creates the illusion of a 3D effect. As the viewer moves around the art it appears as if the reflecting light is dancing across the painting.
I primarily paint in my studio which is located in the historical Gaslamp Quarter in Down Town San Diego. My paintings are mostly a collage of ideas and images that I bring together to form a work of art. I use a thick oil medium that allows my brush strokes and colors to weave together seamlessly - much like water. The combination of all these factors give my paintings a dreamlike quality. My images are like a snapshot of time and place."

Chatting With Sherri welcomes NY Times Bestseller and 5-time Bram Stoker Award winner; Jonathan Maberry!
GLIMPSE; Rain Thomas is a mess. Seven years an addict and three difficult years clean. Racked by guilt for the baby she gave up for adoption when she was sixteen. Still grieving for the boy’s father who died in Iraq. Alone, discarded by her family, with only the damaged members of her narcotics anonymous meetings as friends. Them, and the voices in her head. One morning, on the way to a much-needed job interview, she borrows reading glasses to review her resume. There is a small crack in one lens and through that damaged slice of glass she sees a young boy go running down the aisle of the subway train.
V-WARS; A sweeping, threaded narrative of the global phenomenon known as the Vampire Wars! Mankind is silently infected by a millennia-old bacteria unknowingly exhumed by a scientific expedition in Antarctica. Now, in some rare cases, a person's so-called "junk DNA" becomes activated, and depending on their racial and ethnic heritage they begin to manifest one of the many diverse forms of the "others" that are the true basis for the legends of supernatural creatures.
DOGS OF WAR; Robots are no longer science fiction. Autonomous, programmed to react like animals: fast, relentless, deadly. From microscopic nanobots to massive self-guided aircraft. This technology is here, it’s assessable, and it’s dangerous. What’s even scarier is that almost anyone can get their hands on it. A freelance terrorist uses the latest generation of robot dogs to deliver WMDs into cities across America.

Chatting With Sherri welcomes filmmaker Beth Ryne about her documentary; Feeling Seen, a feature length documentary!
Telling the story of how lesbians, bisexual women, and Trans/masculine identities have been represented on TV from their own perspectives, this documentary gives voice to those whom society has historically cast aside. Exploring how TV can suppress and isolate on one hand, and provide safety and community on the other, we reveal the universal human need for acknowledgement and validation.
